Live from the DMV in Support of the World Youth Day
We began our journey at the fundraising event in support of the youth of local parishes from the Archdiocese of Washington that attended the World Youth Day in Portugal with Pope Francis in August 2023. World Youth Day is a fantastic event that gathers youth from around the world to meet with the Pope. It is usually celebrated every three years in a different country. Hundreds of thousands of youth attend, and it is truly a global gathering where people of all races, languages, backgrounds, and cultures come together to celebrate their faith. The World Youth Day is significant because it helps the youth realize they are not alone. Christians are immersed daily in an environment hostile to the faith, feeling isolated and often antagonized. To be part of a gathering where thousands of people their age celebrate the same faith assures them that the Church is alive and that God still speaks to the youth of the world with strength.

Biography
The Priests in Concert Band is a unique group of Catholic priests formed at the Redemptoris Mater Missionary Seminary who discovered their vocation through the Neocatechumenal Way. They aim to fundraise for a pilgrimage to Lisbon, Portugal, inspiring young individuals to explore their faith and vocational calling.
Recognizing music’s profound impact on reaching young hearts, these talented priests engage with youth in a fun and meaningful way, blending the joy of music with the richness of the Catholic faith. Their performances at various events, from concerts to retreats, embody the essence of priesthood: preaching, sacraments, and connecting with people on a deep level.
Through their music and fundraising, the Priests in Concert makes life-changing pilgrimages possible for young people, reflecting their deep love for the Catholic faith and their mission to share it with the world.
